Bruce Ciskie provides insight on the regional tournament bid process here.

UMD 2013-14 season tickets for men’s and women’s hockey, and football, went on sale Wednesday. Information from the school is here.

Let’s Play Hockey is reporting that the University of Minnesota is in talks with Intersport on hosting an outdoor game versus Ohio State at TCF Bank Stadium on Jan. 18, 2014 in Minneapolis. Intersport, based in Chicago, among its services, produces live sporting events.

The reconfigured 10-team WCHA will have some particularly long road trips, and not just to Alaska Anchorage and Alaska Fairbanks. The Bowling Green (Ohio) State Falcons, in anticipation of being on the road for many hours, will use a sleeper bus, which will also reduce travel costs. Instead of flying to Minnesota State-Mankato and Bemidji State, the Falcons will drive overnight. Kevin Gordon of the Bowling Green Sentinel has an update here.
