Grandma’s Marathon race day predicted to be cool and wet; William A. Irvin 5K results

The races of Grandma’s Marathon get underway at 6:15 a.m. Saturday with the USA Half Marathon Championships. The marathon is at 7:45 a.m. The News Tribune will have updates and video during  the day at Duluth News Tribune.

The weather is predicted to be favorably cool in the 50s and 60s, yet rain is also likely along the North Shore.

There were 1,653 finishers in Friday night’s William A. Irvin 5K in Canal Park. Winners were Matthew Grey, 25, of Minnetonka, Minn., in 15:25 and Savanna Plombon, 20, of Frederick, Md., in 17:36.
