Grandma’s defending women’s champion returns; Mayor Ness to try half marathon; WCHA women’s tournament to Bemidji; Lamoureux twins sign with Nike

Defending women’s champion Everlyne Lagat of Kenya will wear No. 1 in Saturday’s 37th Grandma’s Marathon and carries the good wishes of her siblings, all nine of them. The News Tribune has her story here.

Two of the top players in WCHA women’s history, twin sisters Jocelyne and Monique Lamoureux, candidates for the 2014 U.S. Olympic team, have signed an endorsement contract with Nike following the end of their college careers.
