Syracuse Crunch avoids sweep; Grandma’s Marathon may add 2:05 runner

J.T. Brown and the Syracuse (N.Y.) Crunch avoided being swept out of the American Hockey League’s Calder Cup championship series with a 3-2 win Friday night over Grand Rapids in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Grand Rapids leads the series 3-1 and Game 5 is Saturday in Grand Rapids.

The 37th Grandma’s Marathon is one week from Saturday, on June 22. It’s possible the race could feature an Ethiopian runner with a personal best of 2 hours and 5 minutes. The News Tribune has an update here.
