United States rallies to beat Austria 5-3 in World Championships opener

The United States opened the World Championships on Saturday by rallying to defeat Austria 5-3 before 8,202 fans at Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland. Tim Stapleton had a goal, while Drew LeBlanc and Justin Faulk had two assists each.

The Americans trailed 2-0 in the first period and scored four goals in the second. Minnesotan Erik Johnson had two goals for the U.S. LeBlanc centered Bobby Butler and Stapleton.
