NCAA semifinals are here; Alex Stalock earns franchise-record 75th win

The 2013 Frozen Four opens Thursday with semifinal games at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh on ESPN2: Yale (20-12-3) faces Massachusetts-Lowell (28-10-2) at 3:30 p.m., and Quinnipiac (29-7-5) meets St. Cloud State (25-15-1) at 7 p.m. The title game is 6 p.m. Saturday. The Hobey Baker Memorial Award presentation is 5 p.m. Friday on NHL Network and

Alex Stalock set a Worcester (Mass.) Sharks franchise record with a 75th win in goal Tuesday in a 3-0 win at Bridgeport (Conn.) The win also broke a Worcester eight-game losing streak. The team has a news release here.

  1. Hard for me to cheer for or against the Huskies. I’m torn. Conflicted.

  2. Can’t wait for an NHL game where Ken Reiter and Al Stalock are on opposite ends of the rink. Of course, that will probably never happen, but it would be SO cool!
