NCAA week in Pittsburgh; Gage Ausmus; P.K. O’Handley

It is being reported that defenseman Gage Ausmus of East Grand Forks, Minn., the son of former Minnesota Duluth football player Troy Ausmus, has decided not to attend Denver in the wake of the firing of coach George Gwozdecky. Ausmus plays for the U.S. National Team Development Program in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Superior native P.K. O’Handley, coach of the Waterloo (Iowa) Black Hawks, earned his 500th victory in the U.S. Hockey League over the weekend. The team’s web site has an update here.

  1. It would be great to see Gage Ausmus in a bulldog sweater. Hopefully the UMD coaching staff has been in contact with him.
