The WCHA has six members entered in the 2013 NCAA tournament which opens Friday. Five will move on from the league in 2013-14 (Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, St. Cloud State and Denver), while one (Minnesota State-Mankato) returns to a reborn 10-team conference.
The West Regional (Minnesota and North Dakota) and Northeast Regional (Denver and Wisconsin) start Friday. The Gophers face Yale in the tournament’s opening game at 1 p.m. (ESPNU).
The Midwest Regional (St. Cloud State and Minnesota State-Mankato) and East Regional start Saturday.
