The final weekend of the WCHA’s regular season opens Friday. No. 16-ranked Nebraska-Omaha and coach Dean Blais face Minnesota Duluth and coach Scott Sandelin at 7:07 p.m. at Amsoil Arena (94.1 FM and My9).

UMD senior winger Keegan Flaherty will sit out a second straight game with an injury, but likely will play Saturday. Freshman goalie Matt McNeely is expected to start for the Bulldogs.

Omaha, sitting in sixth place, can finish as high as second. The new 10-team WCHA, which was able to rework its 2013-14 schedule to allow Alabama-Huntsville a full 28-game participation, has released its composite schedule for next season in a release here.
