Michigan Tech scored its most goal in the history of its rivalry with UP neighbor Northern Michigan in an 8-2 nonconference win Tuesday in Houghton, Mich. The Huskies scored four goals in the first period (in the game’s first nine minutes) and four in the second period. Tanner Kero had two goals and Blake Pietial added a goal and three assists. Jared Coreau wne the first 8:24 in goal for Northern Michigan, Michael Doan worked the next 26:45 and then Coreau…..finished the game. Phoenix Copley got the win for Tech, playing the first two periods. Tech was 3-5 on power plays and led in shots 31-26. Attendance 2,653.
