UMD buses home and faces short week before heading to North Dakota

Minnesota Duluth (2-5-1) bused home following Sunday’s 6-3 loss at Nebraska-Omaha and has a short week before heading to No. 6 North Dakota (4-3-1) on Thursday for games Friday and Saturday in Grand Forks, N.D. Scott Sandelin was undecided Sunday if the Bulldogs would practice Monday.

The United States defeated Canada West 6-3 Sunday night to win the World Junior A Challenge in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. On the U.S. roster were UMD recruits Dan Molenaar and Blake Heinrich, who play for the Sioux City Musketeers. The Americans, coached by Duluthian Brett Larson of the Musketeers, went 4-0.
