The eight-team National Collegiate Hockey Conference has announced it will have a 24-game league schedule in its first season in 2013-14. That will allow teams to have 10 non-conference games.
The NCHC press release is on the University of Denver athletic web site here.
I wonder if Denver and CC will push for every team to have a designated “rival” so they will get to play 4 times each year or will it be a balanced rotation. Either way it should be a lot of fun seeing top teams coming to Amsoil every week. I think a 24 schedule is smart a 28 game league schedule would be a grind.
A couple of days ago a few folks decided that the BULLDOG bandwagon might not be in their cards. While I agree that they are not playing at the level they were prior to the Christmas break they are still 6 – 3 – 1 in the new year. Why all the angst? I guess when you are #1 in the land for 2 months the folks crank up the expectations.
The key for the BULLDOGS is how they manage their time on the plateau. Life is full of time on the plateau and they need to manage to this experience effectively (i.e., win battles, increase energy level, win on speciality teams).
They do need to play better this weekend. Just remember the BULLDOGS have an overall winning percentage of .714 and strong, strong leadership. Good things are going to happen this weekend. Production will be up all the way around!
GO DOGS!!!
