UMD picked third in WCHA

As far as I know this is the first of the preseason prognostications in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association for 2010-11, done by the College Hockey Blog here. I don’t know much about the College Hockey Blog, but it may not be the definitive word (in the paragraph on UMD it lists Rob Bordson as returning this season).

Also, Inside College Hockey profiles UMD defenseman Brady Lamb here.

The new 12-team league is ranked this way: 1. North Dakota, 2. St. Cloud State, 3. Minnesota Duluth, 4. Colorado College, 5. Bemidji State, 6. Denver, 7. Nebraska-Omaha, 8. Minnesota, 9. Wisconsin, 10. Minnesota State-Mankato, 11. Michigan Tech, 12. Alaska Anchorage.

College Hockey Blog also makes a stab at preseason All-WCHA teams:

  1. Runninwiththedogs is off their rocker. The Badgers will reload this year and embarrass the Bulldogs at their new DECC. U-rah-rah Wis-con-sin!!!!

  2. Let hope the Bulldogs can live up to the hype. They certainly have the firepower up front and they are loaded on the blue line. If Reiter plays they way he did at the end of the year this team could win the whole thing. I think College hockey blog got the top 3 right in UND, SCSU, UMD and the bottom 3 right in MTU, MSU and AA. It should be a fun year. It would also appear that Bucky still has significant brain damage, most likely a side effect from the thumping he got from BC in the title game. Bucky is in for a long year.
