NHL Scouting: Mid-Term Rankings

     The NHL’s Central Scouting Bureau has Mid-Term Rankings out here.

     Duluth defenseman Derek Forbort (6-4 and 198), with the USA Under-18- program in Ann Arbor, Mich., is rated No. 11 among North American skaters, which would make him a first-round pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He’s a University of North Dakota recruit.

     Minnesota Duluth recruits on the list are No. 39 Joe Basaraba (6-2, 190) of Fort Frances, Ontario, a forward with Shattuck-St. Mary’s in Faribault, Minn.; No. 40 Justin Faulk (6-0, 196) of South St. Paul, a defenseman with the USA Under-18 program; Bloomington Jefferson forward Caleb Herbert (5-9, 180), at No. 100,  and No. 199 Adam Krause (6-0, 175), a Hermantown forward.

     Also on the list is No. 185 Garrett Hendrickson (6-0, 165), a Virginia senior forward, who has made a commitment to St. Cloud State.
