Minnesota Red Wins Title

Minnesota Red, coached by former Minnesota Duluth forward Sean Toomey of St. Paul, defeated Shattuck-St. Mary’s 10-3 Sunday in the title game of the Bauer National Invitational in New Hope, Minn.

Willie Corrin of International Falls scored 54 seconds into the game for Minnesota Red and Brock Nelson of Warroad later added three goals. In Saturday’s semifinals, UMD recruits Adam Krause of Hermantown and Caleb Herbert of Bloomington had a goal as Minnesota Red beat Minnesota White 5-1.

r UMD recruit Justin Faulk, a defenseman from South St. Paul, had two assists Sunday as the United States defeated Switzerland 3-2 to win the 2009 Under-18 Four Nations Cup in Pori, Finland. The Americans and coach Kurt Kleinendorst, finished 3-0.
