Stalock to Worcester in AHL

Former Minnesota Duluth All-American goalie Alex Stalock of South St. Paul spent most of the NHL preseason with the San Jose Sharks, but was sent to Worcester (Mass.) in the American Hockey League on Sunday. Worcester opens the regular season Saturday on the road against the Adirondack Phantoms. Worcester finished its exhibition schedule 1-2.

Also, single-game tickets for 2009-10 Minnesota Duluth men’s and women’s hockey home games went on sale at 10 a.m. Monday. Tickets can be purchased in person at the UMD Athletic Ticket Office and the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center ticket office or by contacting Ticketmaster (1-800-745-3000 or www.ticketmaster.com).

The UMD women open the season Friday and Saturday at home against Robert Morris. The UMD men officially open practice Saturday — and will play a home exhibition against the University of British Columbia at 7 p.m. that day.
