Minnesota is in the WCHA Final Five for an 11th straight year and is seeking a ninth straight trip to the NCAA Division I tournament. Sophomore G Alex Kangas was the 2008 Final Five MVP when the Gophers finished second to Denver. His marks this season are .901 and 2.79. Senior LW Ryan Stoa, an All-American candidate, leads in scoring at 24-22–46 and has 97 career points in 119 games. Sophomore D Cade Fairchild of Duluth is 8-24–32; sophomore C Patrick White of Grand Rapids is 7-9–16; and freshman RW Nico Sacchetti of Virginia is 4-3–7.


UMD is 8-8-5 away from the DECC this season. Senior RW Nick Kemp and junior LW Jordan Fulton were injured in last Saturday’s 3-1 win at Colorado College, but are expected to play today. Junior D Trent Palm was sidelined last weekend with an injury and may remain out. The Bulldogs are 4-3 all-time at Xcel Energy Center, including a 5-1 win over St. Cloud State on Nov. 1. Junior G Alex Stalock, an All-American candidate, has career marks of .908 and 2.54 with a 35-43-7 record. UMD is averaging 3.00 goals a game and has scored 40 more goals (114) than last season.
